Principal – Mr Digby Mercer

Digby Mercer has been Principal of Como Secondary College since October of 2008 and a teacher since 1985. Prior to Como he was Principal at Coodanup Community College, John Forrest Senior High School and Tom Price Senior High School. His life’s work in education has been based on the firm belief that every child matters. Digby believes that every child can learn and that it is the responsibility of every teacher to maximize student progress so that everyone in our society can realize their potential. He has been a finalist in the Principal of the Year awards on two occasions.

Jo joined the school as a School Officer in 2006 and went on to be appointed Registrar in 2012. She is dedicated to ensuring that maximum efficiency is gained from use of the schools resources to maximize benefits all students and staff.
Deputy Principal – Mrs Grace Bradley
Dip.Teaching, B.Ed., M.Ed. (Hons)
Grace was appointed to Como Secondary College as an English teacher in 2010. She brought with her extensive experience teaching in Australia and several overseas locations in both primary and secondary schools. Como has benefited from her professionalism and expertise, which saw her appointed Head of the English Learning Area in 2013 and Deputy Principal in 2019. Grace has a strong interest in promoting literacy across the curriculum and improving pedagogy through evidence-based practice.
Program Coordinator Operations – Mrs Mileva Tubbs
B.A., B.Ed. (Hons)
Mileva was appointed to the school in 2016. At the time she was just one of three teachers in the Department of Education to have achieved Lead Teacher status. She has used that expertise to help develop a culture of continuous improvement among Como’s teachers. She is passionate about her profession and driven by the knowledge that teachers are one of the most important influences in the development of young people
